Historia / History

Nukketehdas perustettiin nimellä Dollytex pappilan vanhaan navettaan Vihtiin vuonna 1952. Sinne sille valmistui uusi tehdasrakennus joen rannalle 1960-luvun alussa. Vuonna 1976 tehdas muutti Rovaniemelle ja vaihtoi nimensä Polarnukeksi. Vuosina 1986-1997 se toimi nimellä Napapiirin Muovi. Nykyisen omistajan omistukseen tehdas tuli vuonna 1998 aloittaen omana osakeyhtiönä Acrtic Plast Oy:nä. Nyt se toimii omistajansa nimellä T:mi Erkki Juopperi. Nukketehdas on ainoa alansa toimiva yksikkö Suomessa. 

Erkki Juopperi on ollut käsityöyrittäjänä vuodesta 1986 lähtien.

History

The doll factory was founded with the name Dollytex in the old cow shed of the vicarage Vihti in 1952. A new factory building was erected on the riverbank at the beginning of the 60s. In 1976, the factory moved to Rovaniemi and changed its name to Polarnukke. During the years 1986 - 1997 it operated under the name Napapiirin Muovi. The factory acquired its current ownership in 1998 with the establishment of its own limited company Arctic Plast Oy. It currently operates under the name of its owner Erkki Juopperi. The doll factory is the only operating factory in its field in Finland.

Erkki Juopperi has been a handicraft entrepreneur since 1986.
